Dubai, UAE – In a heartfelt tribute to the workforce on International Workers’ Day, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) – Dubai launched a series of inclusive, on-the-ground celebrations, reinforcing the values of appreciation, respect, and inclusion in line with the UAE’s “Year of Community” initiative.
The events, held across various companies and strategic locations throughout Dubai, attracted broad participation from workers representing diverse cultural backgrounds. The initiative was designed to foster unity and recognize the vital role of workers in shaping Dubai’s social and economic landscape.
Under the directives of Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, field teams personally visited workplaces to celebrate with employees and convey messages of gratitude and appreciation. A special greeting was also sent via text message to workers across the Emirate, further acknowledging their contributions to the city’s development.
“At GDRFA Dubai, we believe that every individual’s contribution is invaluable,” said Lt. Gen. Al Marri. “This initiative is a renewed message of appreciation and a continuation of previous successes that engaged thousands of workers. On this occasion, we once again express our gratitude to workers across all sectors and celebrate their dedication.”

The celebration forms part of GDRFA Dubai’s ongoing commitment to community-centered programs aimed at enhancing quality of life and strengthening social cohesion. The initiative echoes the UAE’s broader vision of creating a tolerant, inclusive society where every member is valued.
With this initiative, GDRFA Dubai reaffirms its mission of putting people at the heart of its operations and highlights Dubai’s identity as a global city that embraces all.
