DXB Snow Run Attracts Record 700 Athletes from 70 Nations

Dubai, UAE – The sixth edition of the DXB Snow Run concluded in spectacular fashion at Ski Dubai, attracting a record 700 athletes from 70 different nationalities, including 150 Emiratis. Organized by Ski Dubai in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council, the event showcased the emirate’s commitment to innovation and excellence in sports.

Participants, aged between 13 and 65, competed in either 3km or 5km snow-covered courses inside the World’s Best Indoor Ski Resort. Athletes braved sub-zero temperatures to test their endurance in what has become one of the region’s most unique sporting events.

Top dignitaries, including Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, and Marwan Abdulla Alzaabi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Regions Sector at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, attended the event. Trophies were awarded by Eissa Al Shareef, Director of Sports Events Department at Dubai Sports Council; Mohammad El Etri, Managing Director of Majid Al Futtaim Entertainment; and Olivier Saez, Vice President – Global Snow at Majid Al Futtaim Entertainment.

Trophies were presented by Eissa Al Shareef of Dubai Sports Council, Mohammad El Etri, and Olivier Saez of Majid Al Futtaim Entertainment.

In the fiercely contested 5km races, Pia Hansske triumphed in the Women’s Category with a time of 23:18, while Moustafa Attia clinched the Men’s title in 20:17. The 3km competition saw standout performances from Noura Al Khalaf (20:01) and Abdelali Bouazzaoui (13:44), who topped the Women’s and Men’s categories, respectively. In the Team Race, SFM JRC claimed victory with an average finish time of 20:55.

The DXB Snow Run, first launched in 2020 during the global pandemic, has grown into one of the UAE’s most anticipated indoor sports events. Its ongoing success has strengthened Dubai’s reputation as a global hub for sporting innovation.

Organizers Ski Dubai and Dubai Sports Council reiterated their commitment to promoting community wellbeing through sports, with the upcoming 16th edition of the Ice Warrior Challenge scheduled for September.

This year’s event was supported by a range of sponsors, including VOX Cinemas, Activate, iFLY Dubai, Yalla! Bowling, AllSaints, Carrefour, lululemon, Barebells, Vitamin Well, The Brooklyn Creamery Middle East, and RootFoot.
