Dubai, UAE – Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai, led a special ceremony to honor the third batch of department directors who successfully completed the “Foresight and Proactive Media Engagement” training program.
The event, attended by several assistant directors, marked a significant step in the department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its media communication capabilities and institutional presence.
The training program aimed to sharpen participants’ media skills and enhance their ability to engage with the press in a professional, confident, and effective manner. By doing so, it contributes to reinforcing the department’s commitment to transparency and professionalism in public discourse.

Speaking at the event, Major General bin Suroor emphasized the importance of equipping government officials with advanced communication tools. “Developing capable official spokespersons is a cornerstone of our institutional approach. It reflects GDRFA Dubai’s commitment to transparency and openness through a responsible, informed public discourse that aligns with the wise leadership’s vision of a government centred on human wellbeing.”

The comprehensive program covered essential topics such as communication principles, characteristics of an effective spokesperson, crisis communication strategies, and methods for delivering clear and impactful messaging. It featured interactive learning techniques, including simulated media interviews, real-life scenarios, and role-playing exercises to help participants apply their skills in practical settings.

The initiative forms part of GDRFA Dubai’s broader strategy to elevate the readiness and professionalism of its personnel. It aims to build a robust team of media-savvy representatives capable of confidently projecting the institution’s message on both local and international platforms.
