Dubai, UAE – The Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai recently held a meeting with officials from the Consulate General of Bangladesh to discuss best practices for providing legal support and welfare services to their diaspora communities in the UAE.
The Pakistani delegation was led by Fawad Ali Khan, Head of Chancery, along with Community Welfare Attachés Imran Shahid and Junaid Murtaza. The Bangladeshi side included Md Ashfaq Hussain, Counsellor & Head of Chancery, Shahanaz Parvin, First Secretary (Labour), and Md Abdullah Al Mamunur Rashid, First Secretary (Consular).
Key topics of discussion included legal awareness programs for low-income workers, cooperation with UAE authorities on labor rights, dispute resolution mechanisms, and capacity building for consular welfare officers. Both sides stressed the need for joint outreach strategies to improve services for their expatriate communities.
To strengthen collaboration, the two consulates agreed to establish regular coordination through joint workshops and knowledge-sharing initiatives, aiming to enhance support for their nationals working and living in the UAE.
This meeting marks a significant step toward fostering bilateral cooperation in diaspora welfare and ensuring better assistance for Pakistani and Bangladeshi expatriates in the Emirates.
