Dubai, UAE The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially confirmed that the Men’s Asia Cup 2025 will be hosted in the United Arab Emirates from September 9 to 28, featuring matches in the T20 format. The announcement was made by ACC President Mohsin Naqvi, who also serves as the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The decision was reached during a recent ACC meeting in Dhaka, attended virtually by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Naqvi shared the news on social media platform X, saying, “I am delighted to confirm the dates for the ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2025 in UAE. The prestigious tournament will take place from September 9th to 28th. We look forward to a spectacular display of cricket! Detailed schedule will be out soon. #CricketWins”

Tournament Shifted from India to UAE

Although India holds the official hosting rights for this edition, the tournament has been relocated to the UAE due to ongoing geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan. Matches will be played across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah, three of the UAE’s top international cricket venues.

Eight Teams, High-Stakes Rivalries

The Asia Cup 2025 will feature eight teams: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong. Defending champions India lifted the 2023 title after a dominant performance against Sri Lanka in a 50-over final held in Colombo.

With tournament groupings expected to place India and Pakistan in the same group, cricket fans worldwide may witness the fierce rivals face off up to three times — in the group stage, Super Fours, and potentially the final.

Road to the T20 World Cup

The 2025 edition, played in T20 format, is also being viewed as a crucial preparation event for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

More details, including the full match schedule and venue breakdown, are expected to be released by the ACC in the coming weeks.
