Sulaibiya, Kuwait – In a historic move for Kuwaiti Cricket, the Kuwait Cricket Board has announced the first-ever DP World ILT20 Development Tournament – Kuwait, scheduled to begin in September 2025 at the Sulaibiya Cricket Ground.
This groundbreaking tournament will serve as a crucial pathway for Kuwait’s finest cricketers to earn a spot in the DP World ILT20, the prestigious franchise league set to take place in Dubai this December. With the ILT20 known for featuring international superstars and high-quality cricket, this development league offers local players a golden opportunity to showcase their talent on a global stage.
Tournament Structure & Teams
The competition will feature four teams:
- Boubyan Warriors
- Failaka Guardians
- Pearl Strikers
- Kuwait Falcons
A total of 60 players, including 19 national team players, 10 emerging junior stars, and top domestic performers, will compete in 14 high-intensity matches. The players were selected by the High Performance Committee based on key performance indicators (KPIs).

- August 6: Full list of selected players for the draft will be revealed on KCC’s social media.
- August 7: Team head coaches, captains, and managers will be announced.
- August 8: The official draft will take place at Sulaibiya Cricket Ground, where each team will finalize their 15-member squad.
