News DeskTrivandrum – The Lions International Excellence Award 2025 ceremony took place at Hotel Mascot, Trivandrum, Kerala, underscoring the global reach and humanitarian efforts of the Lions Club. Organized by the Kattakada Lions Club – District 318, the event honored Dr. Saif Mohammed Obaid Saeed Al Moaili, President and CEO of the International Academy for Science and Future Skills (IASFS), with the prestigious Lions Club Shield of Honor and honorary membership.
The ceremony, which saw the participation of distinguished international and regional leaders, began with the National Anthem and a silent prayer. The Welcome Address was delivered by Lion Biju S., Secretary of Kattakada Lions, followed by the Presidential Address from Dr. Shajiu David Alfi, Hon’ble President and Zonal Chairperson of the club.
In his Inaugural Address, Lion Jain C. Job, Hon’ble District Governor, spoke about the club’s pivotal role in advancing humanitarian and community service. Dr. Al Moaili, the Chief Guest, expressed his gratitude for the honor and commended the global impact of Lions Clubs in promoting service and human values.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Lions Club Shield of Honor and honorary membership to Dr. Al Moaili by Lion Jain C. Job. This recognition, which officially designates him as Lion Dr. Saif Al Moaili, is a testament to his international contributions to science, innovation, and community development.
The event also featured a Guest of Honour Address by Aminath Shifana, Hon’ble Consul General of the Maldives, and a Global Peace Talk by Shri Shri Prof. Tenzin Celon from the Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education. Additional addresses were delivered by Lion Anil Vasudev, First Vice District Governor, and Lion Biju R.V., Second Vice District Governor.
The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Lion Santhosh Kumar, Treasurer of Kattakada Lions, followed by the award distribution, celebrating the spirit of service and excellence that defines Lions International.
