Dubai, UAE – The Government of Moscow and Sber Bank are inviting startups from the GCC to participate in the upcoming Moscow Startup Summit, an event poised to accelerate cross-regional startup funding. A large delegation from the UAE is confirmed to attend the two-day summit, which will be held from October 1-2, 2025, in Rublyovo-Arkhangelskoe, a new smart city district known as SberCity.

The event, co-founded by the Government of Moscow and Sber Bank, is set to attract over 4,000 startup professionals from 25 countries. It aims to connect innovators, investors, and corporate executives from Russia, the BRICS, and the SCO, fostering new partnerships and investment opportunities. AI Takes Center Stage at Inaugural Startup Summit Awards

The Moscow Startup Summit will also host the inaugural Startup Summit Awards, which received more than 1,700 submissions from 79 regions across Russia. The most popular category, “Startups,” attracted nearly 1,000 applicants. Notably, the “Best Artificial Intelligence Solution” nomination was a standout, drawing entries from one-third of all applicants.

Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board at Sberbank, emphasized the role of AI in the summit. “This summit will serve as a platform merging the capabilities of Moscow’s innovation ecosystem with Sber’s infrastructure and expertise in AI,” he said. Symbolically, the finalists for the AI category will be determined using Sberbank’s neural network model, GigaChat, showcasing how AI can augment expert assessments and identify promising projects.

Projects will be evaluated on criteria such as originality, partnership quality, revenue growth, and their contribution to the technological ecosystem. The awards aim to recognize effective practices, inspire larger companies to support entrepreneurs, and enhance the economic potential of Russian regions. The award ceremony will take place on October 2, with live broadcasts available on the official website.
