Dubai, UAE – APT Global, the Dubai-headquartered marine and offshore engineering services provider, has marked a significant step in its sustainability journey with the publication of its inaugural Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report, alongside the inauguration of a new, highly sustainable accommodation facility for 400 workers, named Hayat Haven.
The company’s first ESG report details key operational and social achievements over the past year, most notably a 22 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions intensity. The report also celebrated a major safety milestone, recording zero lost-time injuries (LTI) across major projects spanning more than two million man-hours.
Anil Abraham, Chief Executive Officer of APT Global, commented on the significance of the publication. “Publishing our first ESG report marks a defining moment in APT Global’s journey,” he said. “As a company serving global energy and maritime infrastructure, we see sustainability as integral to our competitiveness and our duty to society. These achievements reflect not just policy but action, accountability, and measurable progress.”
Environmental Stewardship and Decarbonisation
The core of the ESG report focuses on tangible environmental gains. The 22 per cent cut in GHG emissions intensity was attributed to implementing cleaner fuels, optimising vessel drydocking schedules, and upgrading energy management systems across the fleet and facilities.
Beyond emissions, APT Global made substantial progress in resource management:
- Waste Diversion: The company successfully diverted 68 per cent of waste from landfills, utilising robust recycling and material recovery programmes.
- Water Efficiency: Water consumption per project saw a 19 per cent reduction, achieved through new recycling systems and better leak detection measures.
- Marine Protection: A new Marine Habitat Protection Programme was launched, which imposes stricter controls on underwater operations and waste discharge to safeguard marine ecosystems.
Focus on Workforce and Social Responsibility
APT Global underscored its commitment to its employees and community through significant investments in the “Social” pillar.
The most notable achievement was the completion of more than two million man-hours on select projects without a single lost-time injury, reinforcing the company’s “safety-first” operational culture.
Furthermore, the company logged more than 45,000 hours of employee training, which covered critical areas such as technical upskilling, safety protocols, and leadership development. The report highlighted an increased focus on diversity, stating that women now hold 27 per cent of leadership positions across engineering and support roles. APT Global also strengthened its community ties through educational sponsorships and coastal clean-up campaigns in the UAE and India.
Introducing Hayat Haven: A New Standard for Worker Welfare
Integral to the firm’s social strategy is the inauguration of Hayat Haven, a world-class accommodation facility designed for 400 personnel. The facility sets a new benchmark for worker housing standards, integrating sustainable design and employee wellness features.

Hayat Haven employs energy-efficient systems that are designed to cut electricity consumption by 30 per cent compared to standard worker accommodation. It incorporates optimised natural ventilation, solar-assisted water heating, and modern, fully digitally connected living quarters. In line with the focus on wellbeing, the complex includes dedicated recreational, fitness, and wellness facilities, supported by robust fire safety and emergency response infrastructure.
Strengthened Governance and Transparency
To back its sustainability claims, the company also announced the immediate introduction of quarterly ESG reporting, which will include independent verification of all sustainability data to ensure total transparency.
Internal audit frameworks have been strengthened, and an ESG-linked risk management system has been implemented across regional operations. The company has also updated its supplier vetting processes and anti-corruption policies to reaffirm its commitment to ethical business conduct.
APT Global concluded the report by confirming its dedication to pioneering greener marine engineering practices, with the goal of driving the maritime sector towards a more eco-friendly, safer, and more inclusive future. The company plans to integrate planet-friendly innovations into its core services, including vessel construction, drydocking, offshore wind projects, and ship recycling.
The launch event was held in Dubai and was attended by senior government officials, industry leaders, financial partners, and sustainability experts.
