Dubai: Italy will bring the combined horticultural excellence of Liguria and Piemonte to the debut edition of Myplant & Garden Middle East 2025, the region’s first international B2B exhibition dedicated to floriculture, landscaping and green innovation. The event will run from November 15 to 17, 2025, at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai.

The joint participation of the two regions underscores Italy’s drive to promote sustainability, craftsmanship and research-led innovation on the global stage. Their shared pavilion will offer visitors an immersive experience into Italy’s rich floricultural heritage and next-generation agricultural technologies.

High-Level Italian Delegation

Senior Italian officials are set to attend the opening ceremony titled “Planting the Future: Building a New Narrative of Nature Through Landscape.”
Among them are Alessandro Piana, Vice-President and Regional Minister for Agriculture of Liguria; Paolo Bongioanni, Piemonte’s Regional Minister for Trade, Agriculture, Food, Tourism and Sport; Lorenzo Fanara, Italy’s Ambassador to the UAE; and Mirco Carloni, President of the Agriculture Committee of the Chamber of Deputies.

Representatives from Italy’s Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will also take part in the institutional programme.

Liguria Highlights Floricultural Heritage

Led by Alessandro Piana, Liguria’s delegation includes the Distretto Florovivaistico Ligure, the National Association of Flower Exporters (ANCEF) and the regional tourism body InLiguria.

The region will spotlight centuries of floricultural craftsmanship, alongside live demonstrations showcasing its artistic approach to horticulture. Liguria will also present its sustainable tourism model, linking landscape, culture and gastronomy.

“Participating in Myplant & Garden Middle East allows us to share our excellence with new markets and strengthen dialogue between the Mediterranean and the Middle East,” Piana said.

Piemonte Brings Research and Agri-Tech Innovation

Piemonte’s presence will centre on innovation and urban greening, presented in partnership with Asproflor and Fondazione Agrion, the region’s leading agri-food research foundation.

Asproflor will unveil “Office Landscape,” a creative installation reimagining workspaces as natural ecosystems. Agrion will introduce its sustainability and biodiversity initiatives, including projects promoting pollinator protection, water conservation and therapeutic garden design.

“The Gulf region offers extraordinary potential for environmental awareness and sustainable development,” said Regional Minister Paolo Bongioanni. “Piemonte is ready to engage with these expanding markets through advanced monitoring technologies and our strong agri-food identity.”

Piemonte remains one of Italy’s top food exporters; its 2024 agri-food exports to the Middle East reached €1.9 billion, with the UAE accounting for more than 30%.

‘Made in Italy’ Culinary Showcase

On November 16, the two regions will host an exclusive Made in Italy Dinner at Jumeirah Beach Hotel as part of the global Week of Italian Cuisine. The menu will highlight traditional flavours from Liguria and Piemonte, attended by VIPs, industry experts and media.

Strong Institutional Backing

The Consulate General of Italy in Dubai affirmed its support, with Consul General Edoardo Napoli noting that the event will strengthen cultural exchange and promote regional excellence.

Ambassador Fanara added that Myplant & Garden Middle East provides an ideal platform to connect Italian expertise in horticulture, landscape design and green technologies with the region’s growing demand for nature-positive urban development.
