Dubai: The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs–Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) marked Oman’s 55th National Day with special celebrations for Omani visitors arriving through the Hatta border crossing and Dubai International Airport, reflecting the close bonds between the UAE and the Sultanate of Oman.
Travellers were greeted with commemorative passport stamps and symbolic gifts as part of an initiative designed to highlight the deep-rooted ties between the two GCC neighbours. The gesture formed part of the UAE’s wider celebrations acknowledging the historic relationship and shared cultural fabric of both nations.

Senior officials attended the celebrations, including Major General Ahmed Mohammed bin Thani, Director General of the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority; Brigadier Nabil Mohammed Al Qergawi, Deputy Assistant Director General for Maritime and Land Ports Affairs; and Colonel Dr Rashid Obaid Al Ketbi, Director of the Land Ports Passport Control Department. Officials and staff joined in welcoming visitors, creating an atmosphere that underscored the warmth and fraternity between the UAE and Oman.

Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, said the initiative reflects the longstanding bonds that unite both countries. “What unites the UAE and Oman is not merely shared borders but brotherly ties that span generations,” he said. “We take every opportunity to express these values in ways that reflect the spirit of our nation.”
Al Marri added that the traveller experience at Dubai’s entry points remains a priority. “The entry experience is part of the UAE’s image, and we consider it our responsibility to ensure every guest begins their journey with a positive impression.”
The celebrations reinforce GDRFA Dubai’s commitment to delivering services that exceed visitor expectations, while continuing to support the UAE’s efforts to strengthen Gulf relations rooted in shared identity and mutual respect.
