Dubai, UAE – Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital, the flagship facility of Medcare Hospitals & Medical Centres, has signed a strategic partnership with FAI Aviation Services DMCC, the Dubai arm of Germany’s leading air ambulance operator, FAI rent-a-jet GmbH. The agreement marks FAI’s first collaboration of this kind in the UAE, positioning Medcare at the centre of a seamless air-to-ground emergency care system.

The deal was formalised in Dubai by Barbara Baumgartner, Managing Director of FAI Aviation Services DMCC, and Dr. Shanila Laiju, Group CEO of Medcare Hospitals & Medical Centres. Under the arrangement, Medcare will provide ICU flight doctors and specialised medical teams for FAI’s international air ambulance missions, ensuring critically ill patients receive advanced care mid-flight and immediately upon arrival.

“This partnership strengthens our commitment to delivering the highest standard of medical service whenever and wherever our patients need it,” said Dr. Laiju. “By working with FAI Air Ambulance, we are ensuring quality, compassionate support is always within reach for those who need it most.”

Barbara Baumgartner added, “We are pleased to sign this first-of-a-kind collaboration with MRSH, which strengthens FAI’s link between air and ground medicine in the UAE. Medcare’s local expertise ensures patients receive care tailored to their needs and culture.”

Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital, renowned for its state-of-the-art infrastructure and 24/7 emergency services, will also collaborate with FAI on clinical training, readiness initiatives, and quality assurance programs to guarantee smooth continuity of care from midair stabilisation to hospital treatment.

The partnership is expected to improve response times, enhance patient safety, and strengthen the UAE’s position as a global hub for emergency medical services and medical tourism.

The collaboration has already been tested successfully. In a recent medevac mission, a young American expat woman injured in a car accident in Kyrgyzstan was urgently flown to Dubai aboard a Challenger 604 aircraft, where she received critical care at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital. She was discharged six weeks later, walking out of the hospital fully recovered.

Medcare Hospitals & Medical Centres is part of an elite network of 208 JCI-accredited hospitals worldwide, offering advanced care in emergency medicine, trauma, orthopaedics, oncology, and AI-assisted diagnostics.
