Dubai, UAE: Ocean Basket has arrived in Abu Dhabi, bringing its Mediterranean approach to seafood and its much loved culture of sharing to the capital for the first time. Rooted in togetherness, generosity, and simple food done well, the brand lands in a city where dining is deeply social and closely connected to the sea.

Following more than a decade of success in Dubai, the Abu Dhabi opening marks an important next chapter for Ocean Basket in the UAE, as it continues to grow while staying true to the values that have defined globally, with more than 200 restaurants across 18 countries including key markets such as the UK, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait.

At its core, Ocean Basket is all about sharing. The menu is designed for the centre of the table, encouraging guests to celebrate food together. Quality seafood is at the heart of everything, with a focus on responsibly sourced fish and shellfish that are prepared simply to let the flavours shine. From crisp calamari and plump prawns to steamed mussels and perfectly grilled fish, each dish reflects the brand’s Mediterranean roots, elevated by bright lemon, garlic, olive oil, and the signature sauces that Ocean Basket is known for, especially its cult favourite lemon butter and rich garlic sauce.

The new restaurant also introduces a refreshed interior concept developed by UK based Harrison design studio, creating a contemporary yet cozy space that feels warm, modern, and inviting. The design draws subtle inspiration from the coast, with soft wood textures, curved ceiling lines that echo gentle waves, sculptural lighting, and playful hand drawn fish details. An open kitchen adds energy and transparency, allowing guests to see, hear, and experience the cooking process, reinforcing Ocean Basket’s commitment to freshness and quality.

We’re thrilled to open our first branch in Abu Dhabi, bringing the spirit of Mediterranean generosity that defines our brand to the capital.” says Grace Harding, CEO. “ Ocean Basket has always been about honest seafood, bold flavour and a warm welcome, and we’re excited to share that experience with a whole new community at Reem Mall.

Abu Dhabi has long been part of our growth ambition, and opening our first restaurant here is a significant milestone.” says Yuriy Khussainov, Managing Director UAE & CIS. “Reem Mall is the perfect setting to introduce Ocean Basket’s sharing-style dining, with a refreshed space, an open kitchen and the lively atmosphere our guests love. We look forward to welcoming families, friends and seafood lovers from across the city.

Ocean Basket’s arrival in Abu Dhabi marks an important milestone in the brand’s UAE growth story, with clear expansion plans in place and an active focus on scaling its footprint across the country. The restaurant remains focused on its core promise: quality seafood, a sharing-led menu, and a welcoming dining experience built around connection.
