Dubai, UAE: The Dubai Tourist Police Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigation (CID) has recently organised an awareness lecture for employees of nine hotels in Jebel Ali on smart police services, security procedures, and public safety measures.
Held at the JA The Resort, the awareness lecture was organized in collaboration with the Department of Economy and Tourism and cooperation with Dubai Police’s internal partners.
Colonel Adel Morshed Abdullah, Acting Director of the Tourist Police Department, reaffirmed that the awareness lecture is a part of the department’s ongoing efforts to promote a secure tourism environment for visitors and tourists in Dubai, in cooperation with both public and private sector partners.
“These awareness lectures aim to familiarise hospitality sector employees with the safest ways to serve Dubai visitors and tourists and ensure their happiness and satisfaction, in alignment with Dubai Police’s strategic objectives of enhancing community happiness and ensuring a safe tourist environment,” he added.
The lecture gathered more than 90 hotel employees from nine hotels in Jebel Ali, educating them about the services offered by various departments, including the Tourist Police Department, the Cybercrime Department, the Lost & Found Department, and the Criminal and Administrative Investigation Department.
The participants were familiarized with the services provided by Smart Police Stations (SPS), various types of drugs and their associated risks, strategies for addressing electronic breaches and cyber extortion, the e-crime platform, as well as guidelines on when and how to contact the police in emergency situations (on 999) and non-emergency situations (on 901).
Furthermore, the General Directorate of Civil Defense actively participated in the awareness lecture by providing guidance on fire prevention, incident response, and safety procedures. Likewise, the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services contributed by raising awareness about essential first-aid measures, communication channels, and proper procedures for emergencies.
