DUBAI, UAE – The Board of Directors of the Pakistan Business Council (PBC), led by Chairman Shabbir Merchant, convened a high-level meeting with Sharina Al Falasi, Senior Executive of Business Relations at Dubai Chambers. The strategic session focused on reviewing ongoing initiatives, celebrating recent milestones, and mapping out future plans designed to invigorate the wider business community.

During the productive session, the Board presented a comprehensive overview of its recent activities, outlining key initiatives undertaken during the current term. Discussions centered on strengthening institutional coordination, enhancing member engagement, and exploring new avenues for collaboration to support sustainable economic growth.

Shabbir Merchant expressed his gratitude to Dubai Chambers for their unwavering support. He acknowledged the organization’s pivotal role in facilitating business connectivity and providing strategic guidance.

“Institutional collaboration is essential for driving sustainable growth and creating meaningful value for members,” Merchant stated, emphasizing the importance of Dubai Chambers in supporting business councils to deliver impactful programs.

Focus on Bilateral Trade Kamran Ahmed Riaz, Senior Vice Chairman, underscored the critical importance of boosting bilateral trade. Referencing a recent meeting with Abeer Saleem and a visit from the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), Riaz noted that these engagements have sparked constructive dialogue on trade facilitation. He highlighted the Board’s focus on private-sector collaboration and identifying practical pathways to enhance investment between the two nations.

Digital Innovation and Youth Engagement Providing updates on specific outreach programs, Iftikhar Ali Tatlah, Vice Chairman of Events and Media, briefed the attendees on recent PBC initiatives. These included a ‘Speed Networking’ session with the ASEAN Business Council, the distribution of the PBC Newsletter, and focused programs driven by the Young Entrepreneurs platform and the Women’s Wing.

In a major announcement, Tatlah revealed that a dedicated digital application is in its final development stage.

  • Purpose: To connect PBC members with other business councils and enhance networking and communication.
  • Status: Launching soon.
  • Invitation: The Board extended a formal invitation to Dubai Chambers to participate in the upcoming launch.
