Ajman, UAE – In a move set to redefine the transition from classroom to career, the Thumbay College of Management and AI in Healthcare (TMAIH) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Thumbay Healthcare Division. The agreement establishes a direct “academic-to-industry” pathway, ensuring that students within the Gulf Medical University (GMU) ecosystem graduate with significant professional experience and clear employment prospects.
Under the new framework, the partnership formalizes an integrated ecosystem where students gain hands-on operational exposure across Thumbay’s network of accredited hospitals in the UAE. Most notably, Thumbay Healthcare has committed to employing at least 20% of eligible graduates from the program, providing a concrete answer to the uncertainty often faced by new degree-holders.
Core Pillars of the Collaboration
The MoU outlines a comprehensive strategy to develop “industry-ready” leaders through several key initiatives:
- Guaranteed Placements: Students are assured internships and on-the-job training during their studies.
- Workplace Immersion: Industry experts will be actively involved in enriching the curriculum to reflect real-world challenges.
- Professional Development: Jointly implemented certificate courses, faculty exchanges, and co-branded workshops.
- Continuous Evaluation: A joint coordination committee will monitor outcomes to ensure training remains aligned with the rapidly evolving AI and healthcare sectors.
Leadership Perspectives
Prof. Manda Venkatramana, Chancellor of Gulf Medical University, emphasized that the goal is to move beyond traditional degrees. “This MoU transforms education into employability, and classrooms into gateways to the healthcare industry of the future,” he stated.
Echoing this sentiment, Prof. Amir Zeid, Dean of TMAIH, highlighted the importance of technological fluency. “We are moving beyond traditional instruction to ensure our students graduate as AI-fluent leaders ready to solve the immediate challenges of the modern healthcare industry.”
Akbar Moideen Thumbay, Vice President of Thumbay Group’s Healthcare Division, noted that the group is looking to shape its future workforce from day one. “We are not only hiring graduates; we are shaping them from the start, inside real healthcare environments,” he said.
Enrollment Opportunities
The partnership covers a range of specialized programs designed for the modern economy, including BSc. in Healthcare Management and Economics, BSc. in Applied AI in Healthcare, and Master’s degrees in Healthcare Management and Health Informatics.
