Dubai, UAE – In a vibrant celebration of community and physical fitness, the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai is set to host the Labour Run 2026 this Sunday, January 25. Organised in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council, the event underscores the emirate’s ongoing commitment to the health and happiness of its workforce.
Scheduled to begin at 7:30 am at the scenic Quranic Park, the run is expected to draw thousands of participants from diverse professional sectors across Dubai. The event, now in its seventh edition, carries the spirited slogan “Super Fit Workforce, Super Hit Workforce,” highlighting the link between physical well-being and productivity.

Fostering Unity and Inclusion
The run features inclusive race categories designed to encourage broad participation, including a 6 km and 3 km run for men, and a 3 km run for women.
Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, emphasised that the initiative is a reflection of Dubai’s deep appreciation for the labour community. Describing workers as a “cornerstone of the UAE’s sustainable development,” Lt. Gen. Al Marri noted that recognising their contributions is a shared social responsibility.
“Such sporting platforms foster unity and happiness among workers while reinforcing the UAE’s message of social inclusion,” Al Marri stated.

More Than Just a Race
Beyond the physical benefits, the event aims to improve the overall quality of life for workers. Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of GDRFA Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs, highlighted the holistic goals of the initiative.
“The primary aim of the Labour Run is to ensure better living conditions and a positive working environment,” said Maj. Gen. Bin Suroor. He added that the event provides a vital opportunity for social interaction and mental well-being, which ultimately contributes to higher productivity.

A Collaborative Effort
The 2026 edition has seen extensive preparations and is supported by key entities including Dubai Municipality and the Takhdeer Award. This collaboration between government bodies and partner organisations signals a unified approach to enhancing worker welfare standards across the emirate.
