Dubai, UAE – Dubai is set to witness an unusual culinary milestone this January as Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek prepares to host an official Guinness World Records™ attempt for the Largest Showcase of Cheese Varieties ever assembled.

Scheduled for 28 January 2026, the record attempt will form the centrepiece of The Dubai Big Cheese Experience, a multi-day food celebration taking place alongside Gulfood. Organisers aim to surpass the current record of 1,001 cheese varieties with a display featuring more than two tonnes of cheese sourced from leading cheese-producing regions worldwide, including France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, the United States and the GCC.

The initiative will bring together culinary professionals, members of international culinary guilds and acclaimed chefs, including Michelin-starred figures. The attempt is being staged as part of Date-a-Cheese, an international food festival founded by Argos Start LLC that explores pairings between global cheeses and palm dates — a nod to the UAE’s cultural heritage.

The event is organised in collaboration with the Emirates Culinary Guild, the UAE’s official association of professional chefs, and international cheese expert Elie Makhlouf, with support from Greenhouse Foodstuff LLC. Alongside the record bid, the programme includes The Art of Serving Cheese Awards, a competition recognising creativity and innovation in cheese presentation across the hospitality and catering sectors.

The showcase is expected to feature a wide spectrum of well-known styles such as Comté, Camembert, Gruyère, Cheddar, Feta and Halloumi, highlighting both traditional craftsmanship and the global diversity of cheese production.

Following the record attempt, the experience will open to the public on 30 and 31 January, operating nightly from 6pm to 11pm. Visitors can explore the installation in a festival-style setting, with day passes priced at AED 99 and a two-day pass available for AED 189.

The venue itself carries historical significance. Overlooking Dubai Creek, Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Deira Creek — widely recognised as Dubai’s first five-star hotel — is celebrating its 50th anniversary, reinforcing its long-standing reputation as a host of major culinary and social events.

With its blend of record-breaking ambition and international participation, The Dubai Big Cheese Experience is positioned as one of the city’s more distinctive food events of the season, offering both industry professionals and the public a chance to witness a potential world record in the making.
