Dubai, UAE: Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of Health and Prevention, visited the Emirates Health Services (EHS) platform at the World Health Expo (WHX) 2026 in Dubai, underscoring the Ministry’s commitment to advancing innovative national healthcare initiatives and digital transformation.
The visit highlighted the Ministry of Health and Prevention’s (MoHAP) ongoing efforts to accelerate the shift towards a sophisticated digital healthcare ecosystem powered by artificial intelligence and data-driven technologies. The initiative aims to enhance healthcare quality, improve service efficiency, and strengthen sustainable global partnerships.
During the visit, Al Sayegh praised Emirates Health Services for launching innovative projects designed to improve the efficiency, resilience and sustainability of the national healthcare system. He noted that these initiatives support expanded access to specialized medical care and improved health outcomes, aligning with the UAE’s human-centric development goals and long-term national strategies.
The Minister also emphasized the importance of collaboration among healthcare entities, noting that national health authorities operate within a unified strategic framework aligned with the UAE leadership’s vision. He said this coordination supports the objectives of the “We the UAE 2031” vision while strengthening international partnerships, knowledge exchange and digital innovation across the healthcare sector.
Dr Yousif Mohammed Al Serkal, Director General of Emirates Health Services, welcomed the Minister and presented several innovative projects, including the interactive AI-powered initiatives “Amal”, “Maitha” and “Hamda”.
Dr Al Serkal stated that EHS remains committed to enhancing digital healthcare services by integrating advanced technologies to improve customer experience and streamline clinical and operational processes. He noted that these initiatives help deliver faster services, improve operational efficiency and ensure sustainable, high-quality healthcare delivery.
Among the showcased innovations, “Amal” stands out as the UAE’s first AI-powered medical assistant. The system conducts pre-consultation interviews with patients, generating comprehensive medical summaries that support quicker clinical decisions and reduce waiting times. It also enhances personalized patient care while providing physicians with structured insights.

Another key initiative, “Maitha”, is described as the world’s first AI-powered system designed to manage the nursing workforce. It streamlines recruitment, organizes training programmes, supports career development and facilitates virtual interviews, significantly reducing administrative workloads and improving workforce efficiency.
Meanwhile, the digital agent “Hamda” represents a major advancement in contact centre operations. The intelligent platform provides real-time service guidance, explains healthcare services and analyses tone and sentiment to improve communication quality. The project has received a regional award, reflecting EHS’ growing digital maturity and commitment to enhancing public service delivery.
The showcased initiatives collectively highlight the UAE’s continued focus on adopting advanced technologies to future-proof its healthcare sector and improve quality of life for residents.
