Dubai, UAE – Big Bad Wolf Books has officially launched its 2026 Dubai edition at the Sound Stage in Dubai Studio City, welcoming readers into what is widely known as the world’s largest book sale. Running until March 8, the 11-day literary celebration returns in collaboration with the Sharjah Book Authority and the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority.
Inside the vast warehouse-style venue, more than one million books line the shelves — from fiction and non-fiction to children’s stories, cookbooks, educational materials and self-development titles. With discounts reaching up to 95 per cent and prices starting from just AED 2, the event continues to champion its long-standing mission: making books accessible and affordable for everyone. Entry remains free.

This year’s theme, “Beyond the Noise,” sets the tone for the experience. In an age of constant notifications and endless scrolling, the sale invites visitors to slow down and reconnect with focused, meaningful reading. Rather than simply a retail event, the space feels intentionally immersive — a place where families wander through aisles together, students search for academic treasures, and book lovers rediscover the quiet joy of turning a page.
Speaking at the opening, Co-Founder Andrew Yap reflected on the theme’s significance. “We are proud to return to Dubai once again,” Yap said. “‘Beyond the Noise’ reflects what many people are feeling today — the need to slow down and reconnect with something deeper. Inside this venue, scrolling slows down and understanding begins. When access becomes easy and affordable, reading stops being an occasional purchase and becomes a sustainable family habit.”

Education remains at the heart of the initiative. Students and educators are offered an additional five per cent discount on all English-language titles sold by Big Bad Wolf Books, with no minimum spend required. By simply presenting a valid ID at checkout, teachers and learners alike can build their personal and classroom libraries at even greater value.
The timing of the sale during the holy month of Ramadan adds another layer of meaning. For many families, the late-night opening hours — from 10:00 AM until 2:00 AM daily — provide an opportunity to combine reflection, learning and quality time under one roof.
Beyond the books, the 2026 edition has expanded its family-friendly programming. Dedicated children’s reading corners, creative activity spaces and interactive workshops aim to nurture curiosity and storytelling skills. A curated food truck zone offers visitors the chance to break their fast with Iftar or enjoy light bites while continuing their browsing well into the evening.

Adding a creative twist this year is STAGE WRITE 2026, a 48-hour playwriting challenge set to take place on February 28. Participants will register on-site, draw character and situation prompts, and craft an original 10-minute play within two days. The winning playwright will receive an AED 500 voucher and see their work brought to life at X Fest 2026, in collaboration with The Junction — extending the spirit of reading into live performance.
Shoppers will also have the chance to take part in prize draws throughout the event. Visitors spending AED 200 in a single receipt will receive one entry into a lucky draw featuring prizes such as a MacBook Air. Higher spending tiers unlock additional chances, while AED 1,000 vouchers are also up for grabs, with full details shared on the sale’s official social media platforms.

As crowds continue to stream in — particularly during the cooler evening hours — organisers expect strong turnout across the 11-day run. By blending scale, affordability and community-driven programming, Big Bad Wolf Books Dubai 2026 once again positions itself not just as a sale, but as a cultural moment for readers across the UAE.
