Sharjah: Arada has awarded two major construction contracts worth AED2.04 billion to build 2,210 new homes in its flagship Aljada megaproject, marking another milestone in the development of Sharjah’s largest mixed-use destination.
The contracts cover 14 residential buildings that form part of the next phase of the AED35 billion master-planned community.
Construction of the Five Nesba buildings on East Boulevard and the five Safa buildings on West Boulevard has been awarded to China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group Co., a subsidiary of global infrastructure giant China Railway Group.
Meanwhile, the contract for The Gate blocks 3 to 6, located across Aljada’s southern entrances, has been awarded to Mohammed Abdulmohsin Al Kharafi and Sons LLC, the Kuwait-headquartered contractor with extensive experience across the region. The company has previously partnered with Arada on projects within Aljada, Masaar and Nasma Residences.
Both contracts will run for 26 months, with all buildings scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2028, ahead of the opening of Madar Mall, one of the community’s key upcoming retail and lifestyle destinations.

The new residential buildings will feature a range of modern apartments from one-bedroom units to spacious four-bedroom family homes, with smart home technology included as standard across all properties.
Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group CEO of Arada, said the contracts highlight the developer’s confidence in the UAE real estate market and its continued commitment to delivering large-scale projects.
“These large-scale contracts reflect our confidence in the local market and our determination to continue delivering on our projects across the UAE,” he said, adding that the awards represent a significant step forward in the continued growth of Aljada.
He noted that the new residential clusters will be delivered alongside major upcoming developments within the community, including Madar Mall and the Arada Central Business District, further strengthening Aljada’s position as a vibrant lifestyle destination.
The Nesba and Safa clusters are located next to Aljada’s upcoming sports park, a 400,000-square-foot landscaped complex currently under construction and scheduled to open by the end of 2026. The facility will feature a full-size football pitch, five-a-side football fields, padel courts, basketball, volleyball, squash and badminton courts, as well as cycling and jogging tracks and children’s adventure play areas.
The Gate 3 and 4 will form a two-building complex at the main entrance to East Boulevard, directly opposite SABIS International School – Aljada. The Gate 5 and 6 will be positioned at the West Boulevard entrance, facing Raffles World Academy Aljada, which is currently under construction and expected to open for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Spanning 24 million square feet, Aljada will feature more than 25,000 homes alongside a wide range of retail, hospitality, office, education, sports and wellness facilities. The community is already home to around 20,000 residents and is located within minutes of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Al Dhaid Road and Sharjah International Airport.
