Dubai, UAE – Pakistan’s dynamic Tourism Minister, Syed Wasi Shah, embarked on a mission to unlock the hidden treasures of Pakistan’s burgeoning tourism industry during his recent visit to the United Arab Emirates. Beginning with his attendance at the International Mushaira event, Minister Shah seized the opportunity to connect with influential UAE business leaders, investors, and prominent members of the Pakistani community, encouraging them to explore the vast investment prospects within Pakistan’s thriving tourism sector.

Minister Wasi Shah, renowned for his poetic talents, has seamlessly transitioned into his ministerial role, utilizing his personal visit to the UAE to engage with key stakeholders. He fervently emphasized the untapped potential of Pakistan’s tourism sector and the unmatched natural beauty of its Northern Areas, which have already enchanted travelers from the United States and the European Union. Pakistan’s majestic peaks, including the world-renowned K2 and Himalayan mountains, continue to lure adventurous globetrotters.

One of the significant highlights of Minister Shah’s visit was his substantive discussion with Mr. Houssam Mobied, a distinguished entrepreneur and the CEO of the MTC Group of Companies. During this meeting, Minister Shah reiterated the pristine investment opportunity that Pakistan’s tourism sector presents, brimming with untapped potential.

Subsequently, at an exhibition hosted at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Minister Shah further underscored the attractiveness of investing in Pakistan’s tourism industry, solidifying the case for potential investors.

Mr. Houssam Mobied, the Founder and CEO of Memory Technology Corporation (MTC), a distributor for globally renowned brands such as SanDisk, Western Digital, Toshiba, KIOXIA, Huawei, and Samsung, expressed his deep appreciation for Minister Shah’s insights. Mr. Mobied highlighted the strategic advantage of investing in Pakistan, given its proximity to the UAE and the convenience of multiple daily flights connecting the two countries. Notably, MTC already maintains a presence in Pakistan, serving as the exclusive distributor for SanDisk and Western Digital in the country.

Expressing keen interest in exploring tourism opportunities in Gilgit Baltistan, Mr. Houssam Mobied affirmed his commitment to investigating potential investment prospects.

In a warm gesture, Minister Shah extended a cordial invitation to Mr. Houssam Mobied, inviting him to visit Pakistan with his associates and friends. He assured that the government stands ready to provide unwavering support to investors, safeguarding the interests of both foreign and local investors.
