CMAI Launches ‘Brands of India’ to Elevate Indian Apparel Globall

Dubai, UAE – In a grand curtain-raiser event held on September 14, 2023, the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) unveiled its groundbreaking initiative, ‘Brands of India,’ aimed at catapulting Indian apparel brands onto the global stage. The event was graced by H.E. Shri Sunjay Sudhir, Ambassador of India to the United Arab Emirates, who highlighted the special India-UAE relationship and the potential for Indian brands to expand into the UAE market. Ashraf Ali, ED of Lulus Group, was the Guest of Honour at this prestigious gathering.

India’s Largest Apparel Brands Show in the Middle East

Set to take place from November 27th to 29th, 2023, at the Dubai World Trade Centre in Halls 6 & 7, ‘Brands of India’ by CMAI is poised to become India’s largest apparel brands show in the Middle East. This B2B trade show represents a concerted effort to unite more than 250 top Indian apparel brands on an international platform, showcasing a diverse range of collections, including Indian ethnic wear, Western wear, and Fusion Wear across Men’s, Women’s, and Kid’s categories.

Jayesh Shah, Vice President of CMAI, emphasized the global appeal of Indian craftsmanship and the growing demand for Indian apparel brands worldwide, extending beyond Asia. He views ‘Brands of India’ as an exemplary showcase of India’s premier apparel brands on the international stage.

Boosting Bilateral Trade with the UAE

H.E. Sunjay Sudhir, Ambassador of India to the UAE, launched the first Brands of India roadshow in Dubai and commended CMAI for this initiative to boost Indian brands in the UAE. He highlighted the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between India and the UAE, which opens doors to unprecedented opportunities for Indian businesses. The Ambassador expressed confidence that this effort would enhance bilateral trade in apparel and introduce more Indian brands to the UAE market, serving as a gateway to Europe and Africa.

A Hub for Industry Connections

‘Brands of India’ has been meticulously designed to serve as the premier destination for wholesalers, retailers, distributors, importers, and departmental chains from the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region to connect with leading Indian apparel brands. Participating brands include renowned names such as Louis Philippe, Soch, Spykar, Indifusion, Gini & Jony, Dollar, Touch, Bonsoir, A-La-Mode, Stori, Satya Fusion, and many more.

The trade show promises an immersive experience where visitors can establish connections with Indian apparel brands and manufacturers, fostering new business relationships and exploring potential collaborations for mutual growth. Dubai’s strategic selection as the event’s location leverages the city’s global reputation for exceptional infrastructure, connectivity, free trade zones, and business-friendly policies, making it the optimal epicenter for international trade.

Dignitaries present at the announcement included Mr. Rajesh Masand, President of CMAI, Mr. Jayesh Shah, Vice President of CMAI and Chairman of the Brands of India Committee, and other Office Bearers of CMAI. ‘Brands of India’ by CMAI is set to make a significant mark in promoting Indian apparel brands globally and strengthening economic ties between India and the UAE.
