Dubai, UAE – In the UAE and Saudi Arabia, the perfume and fragrance industry is booming, with the two countries dominating the GCC region’s market. The 27th edition of Beautyworld Middle East, the largest international trade fair for beauty, hair, fragrance, and wellbeing in the region, brought together industry experts, manufacturers, and niche fragrance houses to discuss the sector’s growth.

The demand for home-based “Beauty Tech” products is on the rise, with AI playing a significant role in the beauty and cosmetics sector’s expansion. Manufacturers and experts showcased innovative solutions for both salons and domestic use.

Anfasic Dokhoon, a luxury fragrance pioneer, introduced the Emovation Lab, a futuristic fragrance experience where enthusiasts can create personalized scents inspired by their emotions. Olimpia Mascolo, Co-founder of Anfasic Dokhoon, explained that the lab is based on the Arabian tradition of layering perfumes, taking clients on a journey to create their own emotional olfactory identity.

Personalization and niche fragrances are extending beyond traditional scents, encompassing homecare and out-of-home experiences. Luxury fragrance developers are witnessing a shift towards “premiumization” in the industry, with brands seeking a higher level of luxury even in mass-produced products, such as candles, personal care items, and homecare products.

At the Next In Beauty Conference, the use of AI for business growth was discussed. AI-generated “ideal” images outperformed campaigns featuring real women, positively impacting revenue in the beauty industry. This suggests a preference for visually perfect AI-generated imagery. Industry professionals were encouraged to experiment further with AI-generated content tools to assess their impact on audience engagement and revenue generation.
