Dubai, UAE – Dubai Police have issued a stern warning to parents, urging them not to allow their children to operate motorcycles and recreational bikes on both internal and main roads. Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at the Dubai Police, highlighted the serious risks and consequences of accidents associated with such activities.

The warning comes in response to numerous complaints and reports about disturbances caused by a group of children riding recreational motorcycles in various residential areas. Al Mazrouei emphasized that parents bear responsibility for failing to supervise their children’s behavior.

Civilian patrols closely monitored the unruly riders, leading to the confiscation of their motorcycles upon reaching their homes. In accordance with Decree No. 30 of 2023, a fine of Dh50,000 is imposed on motorcyclists to release confiscated vehicles used on paved roads. Al Mazrouei urged parents to prioritize their children’s safety by refraining from purchasing recreational motorcycles, emphasizing that these bikes are designed for off-road driving.

He underscored the proactive measures taken by Dubai Police to address the hazards of recreational motorcycle riding, including the seizure of motorcycles from those violating the law by using them on public roads. Community members were encouraged to report incidents through the ‘Police Eye’ service on the Dubai Police App or by calling the ‘We Are All Police’ hotline at 901.
