Dubai, UAE – The Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024, scheduled from May 6 to May 9 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, will spotlight the evolution of the Middle East’s luxury travel market. The emphasis extends beyond opulence to include themes of heritage, innovation, and sustainability. According to YouGov’s Global Travel & Tourism Whitepaper 2023, over 61% of UAE residents express a willingness to pay a premium for responsible, eco-friendly, and sustainable tourism experiences.
Top luxury brands like Kerzner International, Jumeirah International, and Hyatt International are set to attend, making ATM 2024 a platform to explore the dynamic landscape of luxury travel. The global luxury travel sector, valued at approximately $1.28 trillion in 2022, is expected to witness a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.7% from 2023-30, reflecting a broader trend seen in the Middle East.
Innovation plays a crucial role, with technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and big data revolutionizing how travelers plan and experience destinations. Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director of Arabian Travel Market, states that the event aims to set a new standard for the travel industry, where indulgence harmonizes with ethics.
The 31st edition of ATM, themed ‘Empowering Innovation: Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship,’ will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, and travel professionals to discuss innovations shaping the future of global travel and tourism. Environmental responsibility will be a key focus, aligning with the UAE’s Year of Sustainability and the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai.
With a record-breaking attendance of over 40,000 travel trade professionals at the 30th edition in May 2023, ATM 2024 aims to build on its net-zero pledge. Strategic partners include Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, Emirates, IHG Hotels & Resorts, and Al Rais Travel.
