Dubai, UAE – Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, led a poignant observance of Commemoration Day at the Dubai Police General HQ. The ceremony, attended by prominent figures including Hashem Abdullah Al Qassim and Juma Al Naboodah, commenced at 8 a.m.
The solemn event began with the lowering of the UAE flag to half-mast, followed by a re-raising at 11:30 a.m. All attendees, including Dubai Police’s assistant commandants, heads of various departments, officers, employees, and students of Hemaya Schools, observed a minute of silence. This act served as a tribute to the martyrs, expressing gratitude for their sacrifice and unwavering commitment to the nation.
Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri underscored that Commemoration Day holds profound significance as a national occasion dedicated to honoring the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Al Marri emphasized their embodiment of heroism and dedication to the security and prosperity of society.
“On Commemoration Day, we stand in awe of the heroic martyrs who generously gave their lives in defense of the homeland. Their noble stances and precious sacrifices serve as a beacon inspiring future generations,” Al Marri stated.
He further expressed that Martyr’s Day reflects the leadership’s deep appreciation for the virtuous martyrs, acknowledging their dedication, loyalty, and love for the homeland. Al Marri concluded with a heartfelt tribute, stating, “We in Dubai Police stand in respect and pride for everyone who has given their life for the nation. May Allah the Almighty have mercy on our sincere and virtuous martyrs.”
