UN Safety Chief Visits Dubai Police Stand at COP28

Dubai, UAE – In a notable development at the Conference of the Parties (COP28) in the Green Zone, Mr. Kevin O’Hanlon, Chief of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security, paid a visit to the Dubai Police’s stand. Welcomed by His Excellency Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi and His Excellency Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, O’Hanlon was briefed on 12 groundbreaking environmental projects showcased by the Dubai Police.

These initiatives, ranging from the Zero Carbon Police Force to the Smart Horse Stable project, underscore the Dubai Police’s commitment to environmental sustainability within the security and police sectors. Notable projects include the Dubai Resilient program, iServe for sustainable transport, Wastewater-Based Epidemiology, Plant-based Remediation of Explosive Contaminated Areas, and Carbon Footprint Tracking for Crime Prevention.

Expressing admiration for the innovative projects and services, O’Hanlon commended Dubai Police for their dedication to environmental responsibility and the promotion of sustainable development. This collaboration between security institutions and environmental conservation highlights a crucial step towards a more sustainable and secure future.
