ACB takes action against three players for contract breach

Kabul, Afghanistan – The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has announced that it will not award central contracts to Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Fazal Haq Farooqi, and Naveen Ul Haq Mureed for the next year, and will also deny them No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for the next two years. The decision comes after the three players expressed their desire to be released from their annual central contracts, citing their involvement in commercial leagues.

The ACB said that the players had prioritized their personal interests over playing for Afghanistan, which is regarded as a national responsibility. The ACB had formed a committee to investigate the matter and develop recommendations that best serve the ACB’s interests. The committee suggested that the ACB should not award central contracts to the players, delay granting NOCs to them, and communicate its stance to the cricketing community.

The ACB said that its decision was made with a focus on national priorities, aligned with its core values and principles. It also said that it expects every player to maintain the ACB’s principles and prioritize the country’s interests above their personal ones.
