Dubai, UAE – Dubai Police have issued a warning to road users, emphasizing the importance of caution and adherence to safety rules during foggy and unstable weather conditions. Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, urged motorists to be vigilant, particularly during months when low visibility is more severe. Drivers are encouraged to check weather forecasts before their journey to prevent traffic accidents.
Al Mazrouei highlighted the risks associated with fog-related accidents, emphasizing the need to maintain a safe distance between vehicles. Safety measures include reducing speed, using vehicle lights during early morning hours, avoiding overtaking, and changing lanes only when necessary. Motorists are also advised against using high beams and activating hazard lights while driving.
E-scooter riders and cyclists are reminded to follow designated paths, comply with traffic laws, wear helmets and reflective jackets, and equip their rides with proper reflectors and brakes.
Dubai Traffic Police will intensify patrols on outer roads to alert drivers to reduce speeds and prevent dangerous parking on road shoulders. Heavy vehicle traffic will be diverted to designated lay-bys during foggy weather to minimize the risk of accidents.
Al Mazrouei emphasized the importance of road users prioritizing safety and urged them to allocate extra time for journeys during adverse weather conditions. The measures aim to mitigate stress caused by delays or traffic congestion and enhance overall road safety.
