Dubai, UAE – Brigadier Obaid Mubarak Al Ketbi, Deputy Director of the General Department for Protective Security and Emergencies for Security Affairs, has confirmed that the upcoming UAE SWAT Challenge, scheduled from February 3 to 7 at the Al Ruwayyah Training Facility in Dubai, will be inclusive of female teams. This marks a significant step forward in the competition, breaking the tradition of being limited to male participants.
Five female teams are set to participate, with four making their debut appearance. The Abu Dhabi Police Women’s Team, Belarus Ministry of Interior team “MAZ,” Chilean Police Investigations Team “BRT,” and a team from the Kingdom of Thailand will join the Dubai Police All-Women SWAT team, which is returning for its second consecutive year.
Brigadier Al Ketbi emphasized that the involvement of female officers will bring a qualitative boost to the specialized championship, offering a diverse perspective on tactical team operations. He expressed his wishes for the success of all participating teams, hoping they achieve positive results, gain valuable experience in tactical operations, and stay updated on the latest global practices in the realm of rapid intervention unit teams.
