Dubai, UAE – The female contingent of the Tactical Reaction Brigade from Chile’s Policía de Investigaciones de Chile (PDI) has arrived in Dubai with a steadfast commitment to represent their homeland with honor at the upcoming UAE SWAT Challenge 2024. The competition, scheduled to kick off on February 3, is hosted by the Dubai Police and has drawn tactical and special task teams from around the globe.
Expressing their enthusiasm upon landing at Dubai International Airport (DXB), the Chilean PDI Team leader conveyed gratitude to the Dubai Police for the invitation, stating, “We are thrilled to participate in this international tactical teams competition and are grateful to Dubai Police for inviting us to be a part of this global event.”
The Chilean PDI Team, part of five women’s teams in the Challenge, is set to face off against counterparts from the Abu Dhabi Police, Belarus Ministry of Interior “MAZ,” the Kingdom of Thailand, and the Dubai Police Women’s Team.
A trailblazer in promoting women’s participation in the UAE SWAT Challenge, the Chilean PDI introduced its first female participant in 2020 as part of the men’s team. This groundbreaking move paved the way for increased involvement, ultimately forming the current all-women’s team.
The team’s training philosophy is deeply rooted in the operational experience of its members, who exhibit exceptional drive, conviction, discipline, and perseverance – qualities honed during their years of service. As part of a pioneering brigade, the Chilean PDI Women’s Team stands as an inspiring example of evolution and excellence within the PDI’s special forces. Their dedication and courage underscore the ongoing progress in gender integration within the force, symbolizing the successful inclusion of women in various operational tasks.
