Dubai, UAE – Dubai Police have announced the launch of a special edition of their renowned Esports Tournament, coinciding with the upcoming UAE SWAT Challenge scheduled to take place at the Al Ruwayyah Training Facility from 3rd to 7th February.

Major Abdullah Al Shehi, Deputy Director of Cyber Investigation at the General Department of Criminal Investigation, emphasized that the Esports Tournament and the UAE SWAT Challenge share the common goal of enhancing global objectives. The event is expected to draw a diverse audience from various communities, rallying support for their tactical teams.

Al Shehi underscored the significance of hosting Esports competitions, particularly for engaging the youth and raising awareness on critical issues. These include online safety precautions, such as being cautious in chat rooms, awareness about electronic financial transactions, and avoiding sharing personal and banking information to prevent extortion or electronic fraud. The initiative aligns with Dubai Police’s strategic direction of enhancing security and safety.

Lieutenant Saeed Adel Al Suwaidi, General Coordinator of the Esports Tournament, revealed that 40 players, organized into eight teams (six men’s teams and two women’s teams), will compete. The first day will feature Counter-Strike 2 matches for four teams, while the remaining four teams will compete in Valorant on the second day. The matches are scheduled for February 3rd and 4th in the main tent of the UAE SWAT Challenge. The first-place winners in each tournament will be awarded AED 15,000, while the runners-up will receive AED 10,000, contributing to a total prize pool of AED 50,000.
