Gulf Giants Secure Thrilling 3-Wicket Win Over Dubai Capitals

Sharjah, UAE – In a thrilling encounter at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, the Gulf Giants emerged victorious against the Dubai Capitals in the 11th match of the DP World ILT20 Season 2. Riding on Carlos Brathwaite’s impressive bowling performance of 3 for 26, the defending champions restricted Dubai Capitals to 132/7 in 20 overs.

Facing a challenging run-chase, Gulf Giants encountered a tough battle against left-arm spinner Roelof Van Der Merwe, who claimed crucial wickets. However, Chris Lynn’s explosive innings of 37 runs and James Vince’s contribution paved the way for the Giants to surpass the target with three wickets in hand.

Sikandar Raza, who played a key role for Dubai Capitals with both bat and ball, couldn’t prevent the Giants from clinching victory. Despite Van Der Merwe’s 3 for 27 and Raza’s 2 for 8, Dominic Drakes sealed the win with a stylish boundary, securing the triumph for Gulf Giants with eight balls to spare.

Gulf Giants’ captain, James Vince, commended his team’s strong bowling performance and emphasized the importance of a solid start in the chase. Carlos Brathwaite, who earned the Player of the Match award for his impactful bowling, expressed satisfaction with his crucial contributions in the high-stakes match.
