Dubai Police clinches First Place in UAE Rescue Challenge 2024

Dubai, UAE – The UAE Rescue Challenge 2024, held at the Al Ruwayyah Training Field in Dubai under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, reached its grand finale today, Wednesday, amidst great enthusiasm and commendable displays of skill. Organized by the General Department of Transport and Rescue in collaboration with the World Rescue Organization (WRO), the event showcased the exceptional capabilities of rescue teams from both local and international domains.

In a tightly contested competition featuring nine teams, including participants from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Singapore, Dubai Police Teams 1 and 2 emerged as the frontrunners, securing first and second place, respectively. The Sharjah Civil Defence Authority Team clinched the third position, demonstrating their prowess in rescue operations.

Dubai Police Team 1 also claimed victory in the ‘Best Event Leader’ and ‘Best Technical Team’ categories, underscoring their dominance and proficiency across various facets of rescue missions. Additionally, Dubai Police Team 2 excelled in the ‘Best Ambulance Team’ category, showcasing their exceptional paramedic services provided by Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services.

H.E Major General Dr. Muhammad Nasser Abdul Razzaq Al Razooqi, Acting Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs, lauded the intense competition witnessed over the three-day event, emphasizing the advanced skills and dedication exhibited by all participating teams. He underscored the significance of such competitions in fostering professional growth and facilitating knowledge exchange among rescue professionals.

Brigadier Expert Juma Ahmed bin Darwish Al Falasi, Acting Director of the General Department of Transport and Rescue at Dubai Police, commended the remarkable performance of the participating teams and highlighted the role of competitive environments in enhancing rescue capabilities and courage.

The event not only focused on competitive spirit but also served as a platform for constructive communication and collaboration among rescue professionals. Colonel Khaled Al Hammadi, Director of the Search and Rescue Department at Dubai Police, emphasized the importance of fostering communication among team members to enhance the effectiveness of rescue operations.

Moreover, the UAE Rescue Challenge 2024 featured informative workshops aimed at enhancing community awareness in safety and security measures, with students from various schools benefiting from the educational sessions.
