Dubai Humanitarian Unveiled: A New Era of Compassion

Dubai, UAE – The International Humanitarian City in Dubai has been rebranded as “Dubai Humanitarian” during the Global Meeting. This transformation marks a new era for the world’s largest humanitarian hub and solidifies its position as a global leader in humanitarian endeavors.

Speaking at the event, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Chairman of Dubai Humanitarian, said the rebranding reflects a renewed commitment to serving humanity and fostering sustainable development on a global scale.

“With a growing number of simultaneous crises and operations worldwide, we stand poised to serve humanity with greater efficiency and efficacy through innovation and amplified impact,” stated Al Shaibani.

The event was attended by over 250 distinguished guests, including government representatives, humanitarian organizations, private sector partners, and academia – highlighting Dubai Humanitarian’s collaborative spirit.

Key announcements made during the panel discussion included:

  • The “Global Safety Net” initiative to strengthen collaboration among nations hosting humanitarian hubs by connecting them through a Humanitarian Logistics Databank for improved resource tracking and emergency preparedness.
  • Establishment of a Knowledge and Development Center to enhance the skills and expertise of humanitarian workers.
  • Major partnership expansion with the World Food Programme scaling up its global supply chain operations with support from the Dubai Government.

Previously known as the International Humanitarian City, Dubai Humanitarian is home to around 80 members, including UN organizations, non-profits, and commercial companies working together to advance humanitarian and development efforts worldwide.

Moderating the panel, CNN’s Caroline Faraj noted, “This rebrand symbolizes Dubai’s steadfast commitment to global humanitarian leadership, fostering collaboration, and driving sustainable solutions to address pressing challenges.”

As Dubai Humanitarian leads the way, the humanitarian sector is poised for a transformative future built on hope, resilience, and a shared vision for a better world.
