Dubai Police with Partners Conduct Security Awareness Workshop for FIVE Palm Jumeirah Hotel Staff

Dubai, UAE – The Dubai Tourist Police Department, under the General Department of Criminal Investigation (CID), recently held a workshop for 107 employees of the FIVE Palm Jumeirah Hotel. The workshop aimed to raise awareness about smart police services, security procedures, and public safety measures.

The event was a collaborative effort involving several departments, including the General Department of Anti-Narcotics, the Crime Scene Investigation Department at the General Department of Forensic Sciences and Criminology, the Positive Spirit Council, the Department of Economy and Tourism, the General Directorate of Civil Defense-Dubai, and the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services.

Brigadier Khalfan Al Jallaf, the Director of the Dubai Tourist Police Department, stated that the workshop is part of a series organized by the Dubai Police in collaboration with strategic partners. These workshops are conducted under the guidance of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Major General Expert Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commandant for Criminal Investigation Affairs, and Brigadier Harib Al Shamsi, Acting Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigations.

The workshop covered a range of topics, including the services offered by the Smart Police Stations (SPS), which provide 24/7 assistance to the public without human intervention. Participants were also educated about the risks associated with drugs, the Lost & Found system at Dubai hotels, and effective methods of communication and engagement with law enforcement agencies.

The workshop also addressed cybercrime, providing strategies for dealing with electronic breaches and extortion, and utilizing the e-crime platform to report such incidents. Participants were informed about the appropriate procedures for contacting the police in emergencies (via 999) and non-emergency situations (via 901).

The Department of Economy and Tourism team presented an overview of engaging with tourists in Dubai and highlighted the premium services offered to professionals in the tourism sector. The Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services team demonstrated the proper response to an emergency situation, specifically a hotel guest experiencing a sudden heart attack.

This initiative is part of Dubai Police’s ongoing efforts to raise security awareness within the tourism and hospitality sector, reinforcing overall security and public safety measures, and ensuring the satisfaction of tourists visiting Dubai.
