Dubai, UAE – Dubai Police, under the banner of the “Your Commitment is Happiness” initiative, has launched an awareness campaign at Al Maarif Boys School for Secondary Education. The campaign aims to educate students about their responsibilities in sports stadiums, as outlined by the Federal Law No. 8 of 2014, which pertains to the security of facilities and sporting events.
Lieutenant Nabt Sultan Al Ketbi, during the awareness lecture, highlighted the initiative’s goal to foster better communication between sports clubs and their fans. “The initiative aims to unify efforts to please fans by instilling a culture of positive support through optimal use of social media,” Al Ketbi said. He further added that the initiative seeks to promote positive messages and a culture of constructive criticism among all stakeholders in the sports arena.
Al Ketbi emphasized the importance of public awareness about the limits of support and the potential dangers of expressing negative emotions towards others. He stressed the necessity for the public to understand their obligations under the Federal Law regarding the security of facilities and sporting events.
The initiative has reportedly received a significant response from sports and media institutions, leading to a noticeable reduction in negative phenomena in stadium stands. Al Ketbi also pointed out that the Federal Law ensures the implementation of safety measures for athletes and various facilities in the country, aligning with international standards and advanced security protocols for organizing the security aspects of festivals and sporting events at the highest levels.
