Dubai, UAE – Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, presided over the graduation ceremony of the first batch of the Professional Diploma in Policing Innovation and Leadership (PIL) program. The four-month program was organized by the Dubai Police General Department of Training in collaboration with the Rochester Institute of Technology in Dubai.
In a ceremony attended by ambassadors, consuls, and senior Dubai Police officers, Lt. Gen. Al Marri awarded graduation certificates to 45 officers from 30 different countries who completed the pioneering program.
Lt. Gen. Al Marri congratulated the graduates, highlighting that the diploma aligns with the vision of Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, to achieve excellence, leadership, and enhance Dubai’s global competitive edge.
Brigadier Muhammad Atiq Thani, Director of the Police Initiative Councils and the PIL diploma, welcomed the officers from across five continents, emphasizing the program’s vision and goals of producing outstanding leaders capable of addressing global security challenges.
The graduation ceremony featured the UAE’s national anthem, a video presentation about the PIL program, and a speech by Brigadier Justin Gavi from the Republic of South Africa, representing the graduates. He thanked the Dubai Police for the specialized diploma program and noted its reflection of Dubai Police’s commitment to embracing innovation and strengthening international cooperation.
The PIL program comprised academic sessions, specialized tactical training, and life quality enhancements, delivered by 30 experts from internationally recognized institutions, totaling 586 training hours over 16 weeks.
