Dubai, UAE – The Emirates Literature Foundation has announced a new partnership with Al Hudhud Publishing and Distribution to encourage the habit of reading for pleasure among students across the United Arab Emirates.
Under this collaboration, Al Hudhud will provide support by supplying books to classroom libraries and organizing training sessions for teachers and parents. The publishing house is making its entire catalog available for free to the classroom libraries of six participating schools covering kindergarten to grade six.
The book selection will be based on assessing grade levels and appropriate topics to ensure an enjoyable and aligned reading experience for students. Training sessions for parents, students, and teachers will cover eight topics related to developing a love of reading in children.
During the recent Emirates Airline Festival of Literature 2024 in January/February, the Foundation unveiled the ELF Reading Caravan initiative, which received significant support from Al Hudhud. In March, designated as the Month of Reading in the UAE, the Caravan visited seven schools and held one online session, reaching over 500 students across multiple emirates.
Isobel Abulhoul, Founder, Advisor and Trustee of the Emirates Literature Foundation, expressed honor in embarking on this joint mission to foster a love of reading among UAE students. Ali AlShaali, Founder and GM of Al Hudhud Publishing & Distribution, highlighted the synergy between the two entities and their shared commitment to nurturing a reading culture, especially among children and youth.
The partnership aims to empower young learners, teachers, and parents, promoting literature and stories as tools to overcome cultural differences, stimulate imagination, and open doors to endless possibilities.
