Dubai, UAE – Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, recently welcomed high-ranking officials from various countries to the Dubai Police Academy. Among the distinguished guests were His Excellency Mihai Cătălin Necula, State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Romania; His Excellency Eric Lacayo Rojas, Vice Minister of Public Security of Costa Rica; and His Excellency Mario Luiz Sarrubbo, National Public Security Secretary of Brazil.
The meeting, held at the Dubai Police Academy Officers Club, aimed to foster knowledge sharing and collaboration in security and safety systems. It was part of the Government Experience Exchange Programme, organized by the Government Experience Exchange Office in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior. This initiative showcases the UAE’s pioneering security practices and contributes to its international competitiveness.
Dubai Police Academy Overview: The visiting officials received a comprehensive overview of the Dubai Police Academy. They learned about the Academy’s objectives, mission, future vision, and academic programs offered to postgraduates and cadets.
Specialized Diploma in Police Innovation: The General Department of Training, in collaboration with the Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai, organized a four-month Specialized Diploma in Police Innovation and International Leadership. Forty-five officers from 30 countries successfully completed this program, enhancing global police capabilities.
UAE SWAT Challenge: The Dubai Police Academy highlighted the UAE SWAT Challenge, which attracts elite tactical teams worldwide. Notably, the first all-female SWAT team was introduced, demonstrating the Force’s commitment to diversity and excellence.
Sophisticated Policing: The visiting officials praised the Dubai Police’s competence and professionalism. They observed sophisticated policing and security operations that leverage cutting-edge technologies to enhance public safety.
Commemorative Shield: At the end of the meeting, the Commander-in-Chief presented a commemorative shield featuring a miniature model of the Naif Police Station – Dubai’s first police station.
