News DeskDubai, UAE – A delegation of international ministers and security officials, including Mihai Cătălin Necula, State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Romania, Kahinda Otafiire, Minister of Internal Affairs of Uganda, Eric Lacayo Rojas, Vice Minister of Public Security of the Republic of Costa Rica, and Mario Luiz Sarrubbo, National Public Security Secretary Ministry of justice Brazil, recently visited the Al Muraqqabat Smart Police Station (SPS) in Dubai.
The SPS, the first police station to earn a 6-star rating, provides smart and diverse services to the public around the clock without any human intervention. The delegation was briefed on how the station’s services enhance overall security and safety systems, enable rapid emergency response, and strengthen security coverage within its jurisdiction.
The visit is part of the Government Experience Exchange Programme, which focuses on enhancing security and safety systems. The programme showcases the UAE’s pioneering experiences and best practices in the security field, contributing to the UAE’s advanced position and leading role in international competitiveness indicators.
During their visit, the delegation reviewed the “Ghiath Smart Patrol,” the first patrol to be fully produced in the UAE. This advanced security vehicle is equipped with smart devices, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the latest technological systems.
The delegation was also briefed on the concept behind the establishment of smart police stations and the criminal, traffic, and community services they provide. They learned about the streamlined and convenient processes for obtaining various permits and filing criminal reports electronically.
The delegation was then briefed on the Events Security Committee, which has contributed to securing over 6,000 events since its establishment in 2008. In 2023 alone, the Committee provided security support for around 800 events and secured many of Dubai’s major global events.
At the end of their visit, the ministers and officials were given an overview of the World Police Summit (WPS), a crucial platform that gathers law enforcement agencies from across the world, including the FBI, the New York Police Department, INTERPOL, the Australian Federal Police, the Korean National Police Agency, and police forces representing 138 capital cities globally.
