Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan Officially Opens Reem Mall in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, UAE – Reem Mall, Abu Dhabi’s newest and most modern shopping, dining, and entertainment destination, celebrated its grand opening today. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, alongside other distinguished guests.

Among the attendees were Jamal Al Ghunaim, Ambassador of Kuwait to the UAE, Tarek Sultan, Chairman of Agility Global, Al Farwaniya Property Developments LLC’s Chairman Faisal Jamil Sultan Al-Essa, and Vice Chairperson Nadia Akil. Senior Reem Mall management executives, Acting Director General Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) Badr Al Olama, and representatives from UAE government and leading retail groups also attended the event.

The ceremony included a tour of the spacious corridors and various departments of Reem Mall, which boasts being the newest and most modern in the Middle East. During the tour, H.H. visited “Snow Abu Dhabi,” the region’s largest snow park, which spans 9,732 square meters and offers 20 rides and year-round snowy attractions such as sledding, carousels, zorbing, and zip-lining.

Situated on Abu Dhabi’s Reem Island, Reem Mall covers 186,000 square meters of Gross Leasable Area and features over 400 retail stores and 80 food and beverage outlets. The mall is set to be a prime destination for both residents and tourists, offering a unique retail mix, exclusive attractions, and the largest snow park in the region. It also boasts a fully integrated omnichannel retail ecosystem with digital, e-commerce, and logistics capabilities.

Developed with a $1.3 billion investment, Reem Mall represents a significant addition to the tourism industry in Abu Dhabi and supports the UAE’s National Tourism Strategy 2031, which aims to elevate the country’s status as a top global tourism destination.

Al Farwaniya Property Developments, a partnership between Agility Global, United Projects for Aviation Services Company (UPAC), and the National Real Estate Company (NREC), developed the mall. These entities bring robust financial backing and extensive experience in asset management and commercial real estate development.

Faisal Jamil Sultan Al-Essa, Chairman of Al Farwaniya Property Developments, stated, “Reem Mall is an iconic project that epitomizes innovation, offering a premium mall experience and fostering community spirit. It combines cutting-edge design with a diverse range of retail, dining, and entertainment options catering to every member of the family.”

The mall is pioneering the future of integrated online and in-person shopping experiences with various digital innovations, including an aggregated mobile app for hands-free shopping, in-mall navigation, and smart parking.

Notably, Reem Mall houses the world’s first Bloomingdale’s Beauty, the only VOX Cinemas with private viewing rooms, and leading brands such as Zara, Eataly, Nike, Sephora, and Carrefour. For home furnishings, it features top stores like Marina Home, Danube Home, The One, and the UAE’s largest Homecenter.

Bruce von Kaufmann, Mall Director of Reem Mall, expressed his delight at the opening, stating, “Our exclusive attractions and diverse retail mix will appeal to locals, residents, and Abu Dhabi visitors. We are thrilled to introduce a unique experience that surpasses visitors’ expectations.”

The official opening also marked the start of Reem’s Summer Festival, which includes a series of festivities running through Eid Al Adha.
