Dubai, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Al Maktoum inaugurated the state-of-the-art Medcare Royal Specialty Hospital in Al Qusais today. Accompanied by Alisha Moopen, Managing Director and Group CEO of Aster DM Healthcare GCC, Dr. Shanila Laiju, Group CEO of Medcare Hospitals and Medical Centres, along with esteemed government officials, dignitaries, and healthcare staff, Sheikh Rashid celebrated the opening of this cutting-edge medical facility.

Spanning 335,000 square feet, the Medcare Royal Specialty Hospital is a modern tertiary care institution designed to serve both local and international patients. This initiative aligns with Medcare’s commitment to the UAE’s Vision 2031, aiming to position the country among the top 10 globally for quality healthcare.

HH Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Al Maktoum highlighted the progress in the healthcare sector under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai. “With world-class healthcare institutions bringing global talent and expertise to serve the evolving needs of the regional population, we are glad to present Medcare Royal Specialty Hospital to the citizens of the world,” he stated.

Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, emphasized the strategic importance of the hospital’s location. “Dubai is becoming an emerging destination for medical tourism. The new Medcare Royal Hospital, situated close to Dubai International Airport and premium residential communities, will meet the growing demand for specialized and personalized care,” he said. The hospital will soon establish five Centres of Excellence in Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology, Gastroenterology, and Nephrology.

Ms. Alisha Moopen described the hospital’s commitment to providing a holistic, multi-sensory healing experience. “We have designed Medcare Royal to pamper patients when they are unwell, offering a chef for comfort food, a musician for healing, a perfumer for soothing fragrances, and a floral designer for brightening rooms, all complemented by a team of outstanding, empathetic doctors and nurses,” she said.

Strategically located near Dubai International Airport, the Medcare Royal Hospital is the fourth Medcare Hospital in Dubai and the fifth in the UAE. It joins Medcare’s extensive network of 18 premium medical centers. The hospital currently offers a wide range of specialties, including Cardiac Sciences, Neurosciences, Oncology, and more, with plans to introduce quaternary care services such as organ transplantation, radiation oncology, and robotic surgery soon.

Dr. Shanila Laiju remarked on the hospital’s mission to combine top-notch clinical excellence with best-in-class service experience, promising to revolutionize healthcare delivery in the region.
