Dubai, UAE – The Supreme Committee of the World Police Summit has officially announced the fourth edition of the summit, set to take place from May 13 to 15, 2025, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. This year’s theme, “Designing the Future of Policing,” will address critical themes aligned with global changes and the fifth industrial revolution.
The announcement was made at a press conference chaired by Major General Dr Abdul Quddus Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidly, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Excellence and Pioneering, alongside Brigadier Dr Saleh Al Hamrani, Deputy Director of the General Department of Excellence and Pioneering, and Lieutenant Colonel Dr Rashid Hamdan Al Ghafri, Director of the International Centre for Criminal Sciences and Secretary-General of the World Police Summit.
A New Era in Policing
Major General Dr Abdul Quddus Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidly highlighted that the fourth edition marks a qualitative shift in approach, aligning with global transformations of the fifth industrial revolution. “Under the guidance of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, we have enhanced our security agenda to include advanced technical enablers and systems. This has led to the launch of ‘Policing 5.0’, an advanced security system introduced in the previous summit. This system focuses on innovative smart services, enhancing security, and improving quality of life,” he said.
Al Obaidly emphasized the summit’s core mission of bringing together police leaders, law enforcement agencies, and experts from various sectors to foster collaboration and share experiences. The goal is to integrate efforts to create safer communities globally, envisioning a future of policing in a technology-supportive environment.
Adapting to Technological Advancements
The summit has successfully evolved since its inception in 2022, keeping pace with technological advancements such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, big data, and robotics. Al Obaidly stated, “These changes have shifted goals from mere speed and productivity to a comprehensive approach emphasizing sustainability, human-machine interaction, and serving humanity efficiently and creatively.”

Brigadier Dr Saleh Al Hamrani underscored the importance of international cooperation and the exchange of best practices in contemporary policing. “Innovation, flexibility, and foresight are crucial in addressing challenges and seizing opportunities,” he said. Lieutenant Colonel Dr Rashid Hamdan Al Ghafri praised the summit’s progression as a comprehensive international platform for police chiefs, experts, and law enforcement personnel. Over three years, the summit has hosted over 15,000 visitors, 8,000 conference delegates, 200 speakers, more than 100 police chiefs, and 250 exhibiting companies from 44 countries.

This year’s theme, “Designing the Future of Policing,” will focus on key issues such as organized crime, cybercrime, money laundering, electronic fraud, and drug trafficking.
