Dubai Police Honor Strategic Partners for Successful Ramadan Cannon Events

Dubai, UAE – Dubai Police held a ceremony at the Damac Paramount Hotel to honor their strategic partners for the successful Ramadan cannon events held across the emirate.

The event was attended by top Dubai Police officials including Major General Abdulla Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs; Major General Ali Ghanem, Assistant Commandant for Community Happiness and Logistic Support Affairs; Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Director of the General Department of Community Happiness; as well as senior officers and representatives from various government and private sector partners.

The ceremony began with a video showcasing the efforts of the cannon crews at different locations in Dubai and the community’s interactions with them during the holy month of Ramadan.

A special honor was presented by Major General Al Ghaithi to Major General Ali Ghanem for his significant contributions in making the Ramadan cannon events a great success this year.

In his remarks, Major General Al Ghaithi praised the strategic partnerships with various entities that played a vital role in the success of the cannon events, which are an important heritage, tradition, and cultural activity in the UAE community during Ramadan, reflecting family unity and bonding.

He confirmed that this year’s cannon events were exceptional, with not only the fixed cannons at major tourist spots across Dubai but also roaming cannons that reached a larger number of areas, achieving outstanding results.

The Ramadan cannon events are a beloved annual tradition in the UAE, marking the beginning of iftar and the breaking of the fast each evening during the holy month.
