Dubai, UAE – The Dubai Police has become the first entity in the UAE to receive the ISO 17020 certification from the Emirates International Accreditation Centre (EIAC) for passing the assessment on four crime scene management criteria: response and handling, evidence collection and documentation, crime scene photography, and crime scene documentation.
Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commandant for Criminal Investigation Affairs, officially received the certificate which was awarded to the General Department of Forensic Sciences and Criminology under the updated G19 ILAC standard, from Amina Ahmad, Director of EIAC, who valued the fruitful cooperation with Dubai Police, known for being pioneers in quality and excellence.
Al Mansouri praised the efforts of the Dubai Police’s General Department of Forensic Sciences and Criminology and EIAC in achieving this international accreditation, which adds to the Dubai Police’s record of distinguished global achievements.
Meanwhile, Major General Ahmad Thani bin Ghalita, Director of the General Department of Forensic Sciences and Criminology, hailed the accreditation as a significant milestone in the Department’s ongoing pursuit of excellence, enhanced services, and adoption of cutting-edge technologies per the best international practices.
