Desert Super League Kicks Off New Season

Dubai, UAE – The Desert Super League (DSL), a cornerstone of the amateur cricket scene in the UAE, celebrated the opening of its new season with a grand ceremony at the Pakistan Association in Dubai. Founded 12 years ago by cricket enthusiast Omar Hayat, the DSL has grown into the UAE’s largest cricket league, fostering local talent and uniting players of various skill levels and nationalities.

The league, which boasts 126 teams across four divisions—Professional, Semi-Professional, Amateur, and Social—has become a vital platform for nurturing aspiring cricketers. Its diverse roster includes players from South Asia, Australia, England, South Africa, and other prominent cricket-playing nations, underscoring the league’s international appeal.

The highlight of the ceremony was the presence of former Pakistan Cricket Team Captain Azhar Ali, who graced the event as the chief guest. His attendance added prestige to the occasion, inspiring the participants and setting an enthusiastic tone for the season ahead.
