Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi presided over a special joint meeting with the PCB’s Selection Committee and team mentors today to discuss the national cricket team’s recent performance and fitness levels. The two-hour-long session began with Chairman Naqvi holding a private meeting with the mentors, followed by a detailed discussion that included both the Selection Committee members and mentors.
The focus of the meeting was to assess the team’s performance and fitness during the ongoing series. The Selection Committee briefed Chairman Naqvi on potential squad changes, while Naqvi and the mentors agreed to finalize their evaluations of new players based on their performances and fitness by the end of the series.
In addition to addressing squad composition, Chairman Naqvi emphasized the need for an improvement in the quality of pitches to enhance the playing conditions.
The meeting was attended by Selection Committee members Aqib Javed, Azhar Ali, Aleem Dar, Hassan Cheema, along with advisor Bilal Afzal, Director of Domestic Cricket Abdullah Khurram Niazi, and Director of High Performance Nadeem Khan. Renowned mentors Shoaib Malik, Misbah-ul-Haq, Waqar Younis, and Saqlain Mushtaq were also present. Mentor Sarfaraz Ahmed and Selection Committee member Asad Shafiq participated via video link.
