Dubai, UAE – Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, has issued a stern warning to drivers amidst the current unstable weather conditions affecting the country. Al Mazroui emphasized the imperative for caution and prudence on the roads, urging drivers to prioritize safety above all else.

In light of the challenging weather, Al Mazroui called upon motorists to exercise vigilance and adhere strictly to traffic laws and regulations. He underscored the importance of reducing speed, maintaining safe distances, and avoiding distractions while behind the wheel. Particularly, he cautioned against the perilous practice of chasing rain into valleys for photography purposes, highlighting its extreme danger.

Furthermore, Al Mazroui stressed the need for meticulous vehicle maintenance, ensuring that all components, from engines to windshield wipers, are in optimal condition. He urged drivers to refrain from sudden stops without indicating, and always wear seat belts to mitigate risks.

With an eye on potential hazards such as water pooling in low-lying areas, Al Mazroui advised drivers to remain alert at turns and on open roads. He urged the use of hazard indicators in case of breakdowns, while cautioning against the misuse of four-way flashers except in emergency situations.

Addressing visibility concerns, Al Mazroui recommended the use of windshield wipers to maintain clear vision, particularly during adverse weather conditions. He emphasized the necessity of drivers being prepared to respond swiftly to unexpected situations on the road.

In a stern admonition against reckless driving behaviors such as drifting and showing off, Al Mazroui highlighted the legal repercussions for endangering lives or property. Offenders, he warned, would face arrest, vehicle impoundment, and subsequent legal action.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazroui’s directives underscore the Dubai Police’s commitment to ensuring road safety during challenging weather conditions, reminding drivers of their responsibility to prioritize safety at all times.

The Dubai Police urges all motorists to heed these warnings and exercise utmost caution while navigating the roads during unstable weather conditions.
